Retail Store Gift Cards – Retail Gift Cards must be redeemed at a retail location. These retailers are NOT sponsors of the retail Gift Card Giveaway program. The funding for this portion of the program comes from the organizations seeking the marketing research information.
These marketing research organizations may or may not need to gather information in your area.
The face value of these Gift Cards ranges from $5.00 to $100.00. No delivery charges for merchandise apply because you are required to go to the retail store to redeem your gift card. In most cases, you can spend these Retail Gift Cards like cash at the retailer’s location near you. Retail Gift Cards cannot be exchanged.
E-Shopping, Catalog & Mail Order Gift Cards – These are actual (not virtual) Gift Cards. You can usually place your order online or by mail. Some merchants require that you print out the order and send it to the fulfillment center by mail along with the Gift Card that you are redeeming. It is up to the merchant as to what forms of payment that they accept for delivery charges. Most merchants accept prepaid Standard, Premium or FedEx Delivery certificates that come with each gift box. You can also purchase a prepaid delivery certificate by reading the instructions on the back of each Gift Card.
These Gift Cards are typically for products where the manufacturer, distributor or marketing agency needs consumer feedback about their product. The consumer gets to keep the product in exchange for the information. Products are delivered to the consumer’s home or office by Standard Delivery, Premium Delivery or by FedEx. Some products such as leather clothing and jewelry are only available with FedEx delivery.
Magazine Gift Cards – Magazines subscriptions are paid for by the market research organization conducting a consumer research study in exchange for the magazine subscription. There is a $5.95 processing fee for each one year subscription. This is usually less than the cost of 2 magazines at the newsstand. If you order multiple year subscriptions, you must promise to answer one consumer survey for each year additional year that you extend your subscription.
E-Shopping – Virtual Gift Cards are delivered by email to the consumer’s inbox. They are typically for new products where the manufacturer, distributor or marketing agency needs consumer feedback about their product. In most cases, these products are available for next day shipping. The consumer gets to keep the product in exchange for the information. Products are delivered to the consumer’s home or office by Standard Delivery, Premium Delivery or by FedEx.
Bonus Cards – Bonus cards are exactly that. A Bonus! There is never a delivery charge to receive these cards. They are free and are usually delivered along with other cards. Check with each merchant for terms when redeeming a Bonus Card. Some bonus cards require a credit card to get the free bonus. You must subscribe to an automatic delivery of some product or service. You can cancel and keep the bonus without spending any money for the subscription or automatic delivery. Others require you to qualify in some way, such as being a business owner.
